Children's Christmas Party - 12/9/11

The Children's Christmas Party began at 7pm on Friday night. The lights were beautiful and the weather perfect. Santa arrived about 7:15 and every child visited with him and received a toy. All enjoyed cookies and hot chocolate after. Thanks to Santa, Mrs. Santa, and all the elves who participated!

Beanie Brooks, Bobbi Fenderson, Pearl Turner (with her back to you), Jackie Slaughter, Kathie Snowden and Pat Bezaire -- yes, Pat, he actually took your picture again!
We served around 125 meals. Pat did a wonderful job as Chairperson, and her husband, Jim, was a great cook - as well as photographer. Thanks to all who helped and to all who came. It was a very enjoyable, cheerful and uplifting day!!
Halloween Party - 10/31/11
About 70 children tricked and treated at the Wellborn Center. We used up all the hot dogs! Many families stayed around for a while and the children (even the canine ones) had a good time together.
2011 School Backpack Project
The WCA recently finished distributing backpacks filled with supplies to Wellborn children. Members involved in this project as shoppers, packers and distributors were Anne Dawson, Maggie Dawson, Pat Bezaire, Cathy Allred, Linda Dye, Kathie Snowden, Wendell Snowden, and Emily Williams. Thanks also to Angela Whilden who made a donation of supplies to help fill the bags.
Blueberry Festival participants and sponsors and Pancake Breakfast attendees help make this possible. Upcoming projects include the Fall Yard Sale, Halloween Party, Thanksgiving Dinner and the Wellborn Children's Christmas Party.
Some of the supplies included in the packs.
