Mission Statement:
The Wellborn Community Association is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation whose mission is to provide for the mutual welfare of the residents of Wellborn and its surrounding areas, to enhance community life by being attuned to the needs of the less fortunate members of the community, and to care for their social, economic and physical needs as means permit. Funds raised also support a community association building where functions are held to enhance the social spirit of the community. Our building is available for business meetings, group meetings, children's parties, holiday, birthday or retirement parties, or family reunions. Kitchen facilities are included. Contact Wendell Snowden at 386-963-1157 or Jack Allred at 386-963-4322.
Our main function and fundraiser each year is the Wellborn Blueberry Festival, held the first Friday and Saturday in June on the community center grounds in downtown Wellborn. Arts & crafts and food vendors, the country store, parade, blueberry bake-off, raffles and door prizes, kids' games and crafts are all featured for two days of fun. Featured items are fresh blueberries and blueberry bushes, blueberry pies, cobbler, ice cream, jelly, syrup, fudge, and (of course) our famous blueberry pancake breakfast.
A highlight of the 2010 Blueberry Festival Parade was the participation of the Navy Band-Southeast. We were honored and proud to feature them in our parade. See the Blueberry Festival page on this website for more information on how YOU can participate in next year's festival. We also want to thank Windstream Communications for sponsoring the 2010 talent contest. If you would like to be a Blueberry Festival sponsor, the Blueberry Festival page has information for you!
