Directions: From the North/South take I-75 to Exit 427 (Lake City Highway 90). Go West approximately 10 miles on US 90. Turn right (north) on CR 137, go to blinking light and turn left.

From the East/West take I-10 to Exit 292 (Wellborn CR 137). Go South to the blinking light.

Welcome to Wellborn!

Wellborn is located in North Central Florida in eastern Suwannee County near the border of Columbia County. It is about halfway between Lake City and Live Oak just off Highway 90. Wellborn's location in close proximity to I-10 and I-75 makes it a convenient travel distance from Tallahassee, Jacksonville, Valdosta and Gainesville. Orlando and Tampa are both less than three hours away. Fishing in the rivers or lakes, and swimming in the many neighboring springs are major pastimes. The first records of Wellborn's settlement begin around the 1840s. Wellborn was a railroad station beginning in the 1860s. Many of today's Wellborn families can trace their roots back to this time.

If you are visiting for the Blueberry Festival, you will find just about every major hotel and restaurant chain at either the Live Oak I-10 Exit 289, or the Lake City I-75 Exit 427. You can stay right in Wellborn at the Florida Black Bear Cabin, a beautiful 3-bedroom log home available for vacation rental (visit www.flablackbearcabin.com).

The closest camping to Wellborn is available at Lee's Country Campground in White Springs, 386-397-4132. North of Live Oak is the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park which offers camping as well as concerts all year round, 386-364-1683.

In White Springs, just outside of Stephen Foster State Park, you can visit the Tourist Information Center for information on all the many historical and recreational sites to visit in the North Central Florida area.

Suwannee County offers Suwannee River State Park in the northwest corner of the county, Ichetucknee Springs State Park in the southeast corner (famous for tubing), and Peacock Springs State Park (cave diving).
